Potpie and a hot guy
SKY just told me she didn’t realize the power of the potpie (let alone a 10-day-old potpie). Well it is true, sometimes a potpie can help you fix a blog. My miraculous potpie came courtesy of the Barefoot Contessa. Thank you Ina!
We haven’t talked about our Sunday Dinners yet (Um..I thought there was going to be a blog about pork tenderloin and rice casserole?), but every Sunday SKY and I alternate hosting an old-fashioned Sunday Dinner.
Sometimes MHG even helps out. And I mean by cooking not just opening the beer or wine. (Um…There might need to be a post about MHG’s crack chicken).
Anyway, what we learned about making potpie was that even if you buy the frozen puff-pastry and make the chicken ahead of time because you want the bones for stock (and then make the chicken again because your husband threw out the bones because he forgot you were making stock AND thought you were mean for saying there was “chicken in the refrigerator” when all he “found” was some bones), it takes longer than you would think to make potpie.

But more importantly we learned you need to leave at least as long as you cook the potpie to cool the potpie. If you don’t (regardless of SKY’s skimming the top layer method) you will burn your mouth or starve as you look at your beautiful potpie.
That’s what we learned about potpie. Now, that Russian/French guy behind you is hot! You have to admit it!

There is definitely something about him…… probably the orange pants.
Damn I think I just heard his blind date say: “So that’s what you’ve been doing since you were laid off?”
What is wrong with the guys these days? Is a job too much to ask for? Is it a job or a hot accent? Why do you have to choose!
Dimitri?? Pasha??? is that you???
